• About Dr. Poleski

    Dr. Aimee Poleski is a licensed Clinical Psychologist providing mental health services for residents of Arizona and Colorado. Dr. Poleski has experience with children, teenagers, adults, and older adults, as well as families and couples. Additionally, her experience includes providing clinical services for special populations, with a background in treating incarcerated individuals, adults with disabilities, clients struggling with various addictions, and members of the LGTBQ population. She has worked with hundreds of individuals with different lifestyles, beliefs, and backgrounds, with many recounting the experience of being fully accepted through her personable style and genuine respect for each person. Her therapeutic approach is eclectic, with emphasis on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, a person centered style, and a bit of humor.

  • Clinical Experience

    Dr. Poleski’s clinical experience reflects a versatile background working with diverse groups across a range of settings, to include private practice, outpatient substance abuse treatment, and both juvenile and adult correctional settings. Dr. Poleski has been encountered with numerous cases in which clients have been assisted in resolving depressive and anxious symptoms, the impact of personality disorder, grief and loss, or substance abuse, as well as assisted clients in navigating treatment of major mental illness, or less complex, but equally important problems, such as relationships, parenting, and stress management.

  • Education & Training

    Dr. Poleski graduated with a Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from Midwestern University, in Downers Grove, Illinois in 2020. She has been working as a psychologist for the Federal Bureau of Prisons since 2020, while she gained prior experience in corrections throughout the duration of her doctoral program. As a doctoral candidate, Dr. Poleski performed psychological evaluations at a juvenile detention center, as well as provided clinical services and assessment at both state and federal facilities, for both male and female incarcerated adults.

    Dr. Poleski also earned her M.A. in Clinical Psychology, from Midwestern University in 2017, as well as a prior M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Valparaiso University in 2013, building upon her undergraduate degree in psychology. Her previous clinical training includes community outpatient mental health and providing therapeutic interventions to children within the care of the Department of Child Services.

    While continuing in the area of correctional psychology, Dr. Poleski has sought to return to her work in the community through establishing the current practice.
